The National Weather Service in Gray Maine has issued a

* Snow Squall Warning for...
West central York County in southwestern Maine...
Northern Strafford County in central New Hampshire...
East central Belknap County in central New Hampshire...
Southeastern Carroll County in northern New Hampshire...

* Until 415 PM EST.

* At 331 PM EST, a dangerous snow squall was located near Alton, or
13 miles east of Laconia, moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Intense bursts of heavy snow. Gusty winds leading to
blowing snow and visibility rapidly falling to less than
one-quarter mile. Wind gusts up to 35 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Travel will become difficult and potentially dangerous
within minutes.

This squall will be moving over New Hampshire Route 16 in around 25
minutes.

Locations impacted include...
Wakefield, Gilford, Acton, Middleton, Rochester, Newfield, Shapleigh,
Wolfeboro, Alton, Lebanon, New Durham, Brookfield, Farmington,
Milton, Alfred, Laconia, Sanford, Effingham, Gilmanton, and
Tuftonboro.

Information:
Reduce speed and turn on headlights! During snow squalls, the
visibility may suddenly drop to near zero in whiteout conditions.

Details:
At 302 PM EST...An area of heavy snow showers was along a line
extending from Conway to near Meredith to near Claremont...and moving
southeast AT 25 MPH.

Locations impacted include...
Franklin, Bradford, Belmont, Grafton, New London, Freedom, Salisbury,
Frye Island, Acton, Westmoreland, Standish, Albany, Parsonsfield,
Danbury, Laconia, Effingham, Newfield, Shapleigh, Tilton, and
Wolfeboro.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 89 between mile markers 3 and 49.
Interstate 93 between mile markers 38 and 78.

This also includes...
Lake Winnipesaukee, Sebago Lake, Squam Lake, Mount Chocorua, and
Mount Kearsage.

* Visibilities will drop quickly to less than a half mile in this
area of heavy snow showers.

Travel is not advised during these heavy snow showers. Rapid
visibility reduction and potentially icy roads are likely to lead to
accidents. Consider delaying travel until the snow showers pass your
location. If traveling pull off to a safe location.
